Material
Here at 3D Workshop we use three types of filament, respectively, to print our products
1. PLA (Polylactic Acid)
This biodegradable plastic and consists of environmentally friendly components such as corn starch. PLA requires less energy than many of the alternatives as it uses less heat to get heated and printed. It should also be known to smell sweet and be little prone to distortion. We use this plastic the most, the others are used where the purpose of the products' properties is essential.
2. PETG (Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol-modified)
PETG is known for its flexibility and physical strength. These are plastics that can withstand high temperatures. It is recyclable but less environmentally friendly than PLA, therefore it handles weather and wind well. Otherwise, PETG has high stiffness, transparency and impact resistance.
3. TPU (Thermoplastic polyurethane)
The main advantage of this plastic lies in the name. Flexfill's flexibility is outstanding and comes well with many types of products that need this feature. Flexfill is durable, almost impossible to destroy, robust and can withstand both water, oil and is often used to make mobile covers.
